Palestine adopted its first National Action Plan (NAP) in for the period 2017-2019. The NAP was developed by the Ministry of Women\u2019s Affairs as the head of the Higher National Committee for the Implementation of UNSCR 1325 and integrates the directions of the Women, Peace and Security (WPS) Advocacy Strategy, which was developed by the National Coalition for Implementing UNSCR 1325 in 2015.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Palestine adopted its most recent National Action Plan (NAP) for the period 2020-2024.\u00a0 Development was led by \u200b\u200bthe Ministry of Women\u2019s Affairs (MoWA), in close consultation with members of the National Committee for the Implementation of UNSCR 1325.\u00a0 This NAP focuses on four pillars: prevention and protection; accountability; participation; relief and recovery.\u00a0 Palestine\u2019s second NAP echoes its first in protecting women and girls from the impacts of occupation and conflict, holding the Israeli occupation accountable, and enhancing the participation of Palestinian women in local and international decision-making processes.\u00a0 It also responded to changing priorities such as the need to include interventions focusing on women and girls in the Jordan Valley and other areas affected by Israeli annexation, as well as women\u2019s participation in COVID-19 recovery and rehabilitation efforts.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Palestine reported on the implementation of its NAP, as well as WPS commitments, in its <\/span>national reporting<\/span><\/a> for Beijing+25 and in preparation for CSW64. Specifically, Palestine provided the following updates, among others:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
